Hitting The Bottle!!

Well, I think That's what Helen has been doing.

Just to showcase her lovely Bottle bags of course.

Helen came along to our Project Day to show the ladies how to make her lovely Bottle Bags.

Surprisingly they all knuckled down quickly and began decorating their fabrics
Pam had found some pretty pansy fabric from the Ark  her stash

Alison was making ....... a mess

but she assured me there was method here

We had a stack of finishes
Ena's

Glenys'

Ellen's

the terrible trio!

Val's

Toni's
Yes, even Toni finished!

And Alison's mess?
Very appropriate

Pam's

Muriel's
I will get a pic of Elaine's next time
No disasters (once they realised where their bottoms should be!)

A great workshop again, thank you Helen.  I'm sure we will see more of these pop up in the future

Just a Quick Update - And a Request!!!

There's always something isn't there!!

I have been asked if I could make some bunnies for a stall at the
Crazy Hats Wicksteed Walk but they need them for the 19th!!!

If anyone has the time (or the inclination) to help me out I will be in your debt (again).
Anything Bunny related will be wonderful.
I have a pattern for a crochet or knitted one  (or you can use any pattern)
and am looking for a pattern for little sewn bunny - might make some of the hanging hearts with a bunny appliqued on?
Can you hear the desperation ???
Just send a message if you need a pattern .
Thank you xx

Monday saw lots of different projects on the go

Barbara has started a Lattice Block

June (who has knitted .... forever!! - has used a pattern in this boon to make a bunny
Fran has a bulk order for some of her "cross in a pocket". These are stitched on plastic canvas.
Colleen is sewing a Lucy Locket panel that will go into a wall hanging

Lynda was sewing --- hundreds -- of ends in on her applique baby quilt
Shelia was using some very old college samples into little pieces of art
Angie panicked when she saw the camera because she was being as productive as usual. She grabbed this pattern to make it look like she had something in mind!
Debbie has been working on hexagons for some weeks now and said she had a box of them at home. She wasn't kidding!!
Linda has finished the hand swing on her "Hussuff" and is hoping to get it on the right side when it is made up ( she's had a few bloopers lately)
We have a couple more embroidery patterns being worked on

Glenys'

Ellen had been embroidering panels and was making these up into tote bags

Ena has joined in the madness that is Mini Mania Challenge

This is her February piece
6" square Mini Quilt
And has enjoyed it so much that she is already onto the March Challenge

all to do with numbers.....
We have had delivery of our nice new Library trolley. So easy to pus that Kay parked it at the top of the room. Well worth the dosh!!

Makes us look quite professional!

They've Gone!

Our 2016 contribution to Project Linus have been delivered.

176 in total !!
Yes - you read that right!
176 Linus quilts made by you lovely ladies have been passed (thank you Sue) over to the Linus rep for Northants.  Most of them were incubator size, but there were some larger, older child quilts in the tally.
Well Done, and
Thank You
(and now I can have my spare bed back !)

We will have another Charity day later in the year.
Carol has suggested that those that would like to, could make easy access hospital gowns in fun fabrics.
You can find the details and  pattern here.
If you have any fun fabrics that would make a top and shorts  please consider donating them to be made into a fund pair of PJ's for a child in hospital
Or we could have a "Charity Day" for any Charity that any of you support. Let us know what you would prefer.
Just a reminder that we are making single blocks for Project Linus on a Seaside theme. if you fancy having a go at one of these, a couple of suggested  Patterns are on the noticeboard  or you can find  them here
or you can make your own design, on a seaside theme but the unfinished block MUST measure 12.5 inches
*****************
After all that "business" here are a few pics of things that were in progress on Wednesday
Sue had had fun hand stitching these Sunbonnet Sue motifs and has now finished her grand daughters new quilt.

Nikki was layering up her Pink Bows quilt

And Jackie had been given an pile of unfinished  jelly roll blocks and was working out a setting for them. There is loads of extra bits from this project so she is working out a fancy border.
I expect that this will be finished by next week!
