The Secret Is Out...

A couple of projects from Wednesday's meeting
Sue's Grand-daughter will be One soon and she has made this to decorate her bedroom.

You may remember that Nesta had been given a large amount of fabric that her son had brought back from Burma and though the fabrics were so not her thing, the resultant quilt was magnificent!  It has been handed to a very please son and now graces his bed.

Well, said son was so thrilled with his new acquisition that on his last trip he returned with MORE fabrics for Mum!!

An amount of head scratching has commenced as to what to make as Nesta won't be repeating another huge quilt. There is enough fabric to carpet her whole house here!!  She thinks maybe a wall-hanging?  Ideas are welcome from anyone!!

Oh - and the the SECRET.....

Some weeks ago the ladies suggested that as Hayley was to be married at the end of October, we should make a group quilt for her.  We chose her wedding colours (purple and orange) and each of us was issued with a square of orange and had to add our own purple and cream fabrics to make a Log Cabin Square.
Jackie the pieced the blocks together, and quilted and bound and the quilt was handed over to Hayley this week.

Label made by Elizabeth
rubbish photo by Lesley !
The quilt measures approx 50" x 60" so nice to snuggle up on the sofa with.

We had had inside information regarding the colours - our Ena is a stalwart in charge of the flowers in St Mary's church.
Ena could be accused of being better with flowers than she is with fabric - but I certainly would not be the one to say it!

and just a sneaky couple of pics of the day...

Fabulous Bouquet too!

A Big Congratulations to Hayley and Andy

See -- we are not all old ladies!
