A Sticky Subject....

This week we have started to make fabric covered boxes. It will take more than one evening to finish, but most got off to a good start.

Maggie measured out her fabrics and carefully cut, ready for applying to the card stock
cream for the lining
Jackie was steaming ahead with her small box

Beverley got one of the sections completed, and a bit more besides

lovely Christmas fabric
Linings all pegged down to dry
And Rosemary with a pot of glue is always good for a laugh.......

neatening corners - very bright fabric
PUT THE BOTTLE DOWN!!!
It seems that these kits do not have the very comprehensive instructions or even card lining pieces that we have had when we got the kits from The Needleworkshop, but they no longer supply the kits, so we will have to learn to live with it.

There is a variety of shapes and sizes and they will look lovely - honest!

We will see the completed boxes in a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile we have a finish!  This is a baby tote bag with internal pockets to carry all the trimmings that come with a new baby. They wont loose this one, will they!
Bright Bug Bag
And Bernice ----- is sewing some knitted shapes into what she THINKS is a penguin, but don't hold her to that! Promise to show next time.

We will not have a key-holder during August, so the last Wednesday session will be 30th July and we will re-open on 3rd September.  Anyone can pop into the Monday session if they are able.

On Monday 18th August, Helen Spence will be with us showing Celtic Printing.
Lots of designs, and just a bit of fun.

And a change to the programme

Wednesday  8th October and Monday 20th October - Diana Turner - Stunning Stitching

This will use lots of fancy stitches on you sewing machine, fancy cord and any other embellishments you can find. A bit of fun and a useful item at the end. You can sew his by hand if you wish.
